Welcome Leigh Savage! *Giveaway*

Let's welcome author Leigh Savage to RTPT! She is offering a free ecopy of her release Bound By Blood to one lucky commenter :)

Hello I’m Author Leigh Savage.  I’d like to take a moment to Thank Olivia for inviting me on her blog today.

I’d like to start by telling everyone a little bit about myself.  I currently live in Saint Louis, MO with my husband and two beautiful kids.  In my spare time I like to paint, draw, read, and watch lots of TV shows like True Blood, Vampire Dairies and one of my all time favorites was Charmed.  I also love watching lots of movies and anime.  I have a great fondness for all things paranormal.

Today I’d like to discuss the belief or disbelief in ghost.  Polls show that one in five people believe ghosts are real.

Let me ask you have you ever felt that sudden chill in the air that travels up your spine causing the hairs on the nap of your neck to stand on end?  Thought that you seen someone out of the corner of your eye only to turn and find that your all alone?

I’m a firm believer in ghost as a young girl I swore that I saw a ghost when I stayed all night at my cousin’s house.  It may have only been a over active imagination but many years later when I was a teenage my friend and I walked by that same house on our way to her house only no one lived in the house anymore nor had there been for years.  When we came out of my friend’s house to walk back to mine all the lights where on in the house; we ran to get my friends brother and made him check the house all the doors and windows where still locked and the house was completely empty.   Later that same night we kept looking out the window at the house and still the lights stayed on.  Then just after Midnight all the lights went off all at once.  The house was eventually demolished; but that feeling never left me.  Making me often wonder if ghost really do exist then why are they still lingering in our world?

One of the most popular beliefs is that the person experienced a tragedy at the time of death and that their spirit simply cannot move on.

I explore this belief in my novel Bound by Blood:  A Collection of Short Stories of vampire, ghost and other creatures of the night.

In the short story Shattered Vows Wynter DeBrassie was a jilted bride who took her own life and is now forever doomed to haunt the walls of the manor searching for the one who wronged her bent on revenge.

Now I want to hear from you…Do you believe in ghost?  If so have you seen or felt their presence?

  2. I can honestly say I don't believe in ghosts. How sad for a paranormal author, I know lol Despite my writing them into my stories, and my addiction to paranormal reality. I want to believe, I want to see one!

  3. I'm not big on ghosts, even though DH caught a ghost voice at the prison where he did a ghost hunt. Apparently, ghosts - if they exist - swear a LOT!!

  4. I do. I've never seen one but it's weird! Sometimes I smell the same smell as when I used to look in the fridge at my grandmother's house. It just happens out of the blue for no reason. Also when we clean out the closet in my mom's room we hear footsteps but nobody is up there.

    1. I've heard of many other people saying the same thing about smells like the fragrance of the perfume that their loved one used to wear and they would fill like for that moment they where there with them and then it would disappear.

  5. I believe in ghosts. I really do. I'm not nuts, but where I grew up we saw a few unexplainable things in the place my grandfather died. I never met him because he died 5 years before I was born, but my cousin and I do believe we've seen him several times. Once we were even together, so I know I'm not crazy...unless she is too.

  7. Hi Leigh,
Elaine here and yep a true believer here in most things paranormal, try sitting on a couch and you are shivering, super cold.and your friends say, by the way she is sitting right by you. My friend who happens to channel a guide and the guide liked me and literally just about sat on me. So I said ok so you can actually see her and all I can do is freeze here and know she exists by her chill. I asked her to go somewhere else in the room, she did and the chili went away immediately. I knew about it but it was my first true experience of it. Later that night I roamed the room and found her by the chill in a chair.
Has experienced much more since that night in 2001 so I am a great believer and can tell when someone is here with me immediately.

  9. I believe wholeheartedly. I've experienced them since I was a small child. Hearing things, seeing things move out of the corner of my eye, and then as I got older (late teens, early twenties), that intensified. I lived in a house where I literally had things thrown at me. I've seen full body apparitions. After my mother died, she came to me one night, and comforted me when I was grieving. From that moment on, I have never had another paranormal experience. I kinda think she's running interference for me. I even worked as a paranormal investigator for a while. Also, I come from a long line of people who could see and sense things that others couldn't. And I'm Appalachian. That's kind of part and parcel for us hillbillies.
